Homecoming 2015: October 1-3

Reconnect.  Renew.  Relive.

The Office of Alumni Affairs & Annual Giving is excited to partner with our friends in Student Development to bring you “Homecoming 2015: Once Upon A Time” on October 1-3. Several new and exciting programs have been added to Homecoming 2015, and we hope you are planning to be in Boone to celebrate this fun and memorable weekend on campus!

Thursday, October 1
Homecoming weekend starts off with the Alumni Awards Ceremony on Thursday night at The Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts. Join us as we recognize Young Alumni Award recipient Laura Aiken ’98 ’00, Outstanding Service Award recipient Reba Moretz ’52 '53, and Distinguished Alumni Award recipient Nelson Dollar ’83 '85.

Friday, October 2
On Friday, stop by the McKinney Alumni Center to pick up materials for a Homecoming Highlights Tour and then explore campus at your own pace. Our special Homecoming Highlights include Appalachian's Solar Vehicle, an open Jazz Ensemble rehearsal, alumni-themed campus tours and more! The Homecoming Parade will march through downtown Boone on Friday for the first time in more than a decade, stepping off at 5:45 p.m. from Peacock Hall parking lot. Following the Homecoming Parade, relax at Friday evening's APPtoberfest on Duck Pond Field, enjoying festivities including the Homecoming bonfire, kazoo band performances, pep rally, fireworks, The Bantum Rooster Band, and the Alumni Beer Garden (beer garden available to alumni 21 and over).

Saturday, October 3
Begin your Homecoming Saturday with a visit to the McKinney Alumni Center, celebrating its 20th Anniversary, with complimentary biscuits and coffee at the annual Homecoming Breakfast. Then enjoy our booming tailgate atmosphere at Duck Pond Field before the Mountaineers take on the Wyoming Cowboys at Kidd Brewer Stadium. Please note that all Saturday event times are contingent upon the release of the game kickoff time, which is expected to be announced by Monday, September 21.
